This analog preamplifier delivers an incredibly pure signal. The 851E delivers unbelievably little harmonic distortion, has terrapin impedance buffering modules and a solid state volume control. This all adds up to the purest production with so little noise to incoming signals that we can barely measure it.
NO MEASURABLE DISTORTION
By using a solid state volume control which retains channel balance even at low levels, the 851E analog preamplifier prevents distortion to analog source signals. This ensures your audio signal is left untouched and the performance is true to the original recording.
CONSISTENT SOUND DESIGN
Consistent sound is delivered across different sources through Terrapin buffer modules which separate the amplifier and signal impedance. There is also an all metal chassis which helps to allow the 851E to isolate the electronics from external interference.
ALL METAL CHASSIS
Extensive use of aluminium creates massive structural rigidity, while careful damping and control of acoustic resonance contribute to audiophile sound quality.
The 851E has a wider range of input options than its predecessors, with eight inputs including three which are switchable between unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR – the latter ideal for connecting to a broad range of high-end sources. Plus flexible and configurable trigger, IR outputs and control bus make it easy to connect to modern power amps.
New balanced volume topology controllable in 1dB steps, giving very fine control, and superbly accurate channel balance
