EXCELLENT DEMO
Network streamer; streaming bridge; Ethernet-to-USB converter. Three ways to describe the newly announced e.One Stream from Bel Canto Design.
An Asynchronously-timed Ethernet signal goes in…and a S/PDIF digital audio stream (PCM or DSD) comes out: AES/EBU, coaxial or TOSLINK, ready for connection to a downstream DAC. All digital outputs are clocked by ‘ultra-low phase noise’ master clocks to stream bit-perfectly and gaplessly.
Also on the rear panel, we note the inclusion of an RCA (line-level) analogue output that talks to an internal 24bit/192kHz- and MQA-capable DAC for those not already in possession of a third party D/A converter.
In getting hands-on with music playback, we look to the Minneapolis manufacturer’s ‘Seek’ UPnP app (iOS only) that allows users to UPnP stream from a local library; either a NAS or a USB hard drive directly connected to its rear. The UPnP-ing Seek app integrates vTuner radio, Tidal and Qobuz. The e.One Stream is also Roon Ready.
The e.One Stream provides access to thousands of albums by connecting your preamplifier or DAC to your home network, Tidal, Qobuz, Vtuner, or your personal NAS library. The Bel Canto SEEK Controller is a UPnP/DLNA iOS app that organizes playlists, favorite tracks, or stations from around the world, making them readily accessible.
