Cat Stevens - Tea for the Tillerman - CD. This is a wonderfully remastered version of an all time classic. Digitally remastered from the original master tapes. Features complete original artwork. This sounds stunning! Thanks for the recommendation Bob. Limited Edition - Compact Disc

Tea For The Tillerman, is one of Cat Stevens's finest albums, and a gem in the crown of early 1970s singer/songwriterdom. Apart from the occasional string section, Stevens is accompanied only by a three-piece band as he sings his introspective lyrics with appreciable fervor. There are some relatively conventional love songs here, "Hard Headed Woman" and "Wild World". The song "Father and Son" is a poignant but realistic and unsentimental portrait of the generation gap, capable of reducing any given Dad or junior to tears. "On the Road to Find Out" and "But I Might Die Tonight" reflect Stevens's existential dilemmas, and the resulting spiritual quest that would later lead him to embrace the Islamic faith. The graceful beauty of arrangements, performances, and songs makes this album a folk-rock classic.

Cat Stevens virtually disappeared from the British pop scene in 1968. At the age of 20, following a meteoric start to his career, he contracted tuberculosis and spent a year recovering from both his illness and the strain of being a teenage pop star. He returned to action in the spring of 1970 as a very different 22-year-old with Mona Bone Jakon. Limited Edition import-only vinyl LP repressing of this album. Universal. 2007. Import Vinyl LP

Neil Young - Zuma Neil followed up the harrowing brilliance of Tonight's the Night with a structurally less-challenging (it didn't sound like he was going off the deep end), yet equally powerful record in Zuma. Marked by "Cortez the Killer" and the often overlooked "Danger Bird," Zuma is also the first record with Danny Whitten's replacement, Frank Sampedro. IMPORT LP

Neil Young - Silver and Gold - One of Neil Young's softest and most striking albums in ages, Silver & Gold recaptures the peacefulness of Comes a Time and Harvest Moon. At one point ("Buffalo Springfield Again"), Young even goes so far as to imagine the reunion of the band he left in order to pursue a solo career. It's a moment that almost overtakes Young's songs of husbandly devotion in sheer sweetness. 2000 Import Vinyl LP

Neil Young - Living with War 2006 album by Canadian-American musician Neil Young. The album's lyrics, titles, and conceptual style are highly critical of the policies of the George W. Bush administration, and some have called it a "musical critique" of Bush and the War in Iraq [2]. Written and recorded over the course of nine days in March and April 2006,[1][3] its lyrics are in line with the early 1960s albums of folk artists such as Phil Ochs and Bob Dylan, though it is set to what Young calls a "metal folk protest music"[4] courtesy of Young, bassist Rick Rosas, drummer Chad Cromwell and trumpet player Tommy Bray Heavyweight Audiophile LP

Neil Young - Tonight's The Night By 1975 Young had written some of the most enduring anthems in rock history. But from the slow, tension-building piano opening of "Tonight's the Night," he downshifts into darkness and Crazy Horse's folk-country melodies take on a guttural hum that would eventually speak to generations of punk and grunge musicians. Inspired by the overdose deaths of two of Young's friends, roadie Bruce Berry and guitarist Danny Whitten, the title track (and its closing reprise) is a hypnotic cry of "why?" Even the relative party songs, "Come On Baby Let's Go Downtown" and "Roll Another Number," fit the album's bus-to-nowhere resignation. Vinyl LP

Peter Himmelman - Pigeons Couldn't Sleep
The spiritually-minded veteran singer-songwriter covers a whole lot of territory, both musical and thematic, on this 13-cut CD (with a bonus DVD). Himmelman touches on political climates and international religious hostilities. If Himmelman weren't Bob Dylan's son-in-law, it would be hard to avoid describing his lyrics as Dylanesque. Viktor Krauss II - Bassist Viktor Krauss has made himself indispensable as a sideman to the likes of Lyle Lovett, Bill Frisell, and the Chieftains, and released his solo debut, FAR FROM ENOUGH, in 2004. Like its predecessor, II is highly eclectic, bringing together film music, country, jazz, blues, and rock in a lush sonic package. "Hop," a moody, guitar-driven dream, draws the listener into the album, and features contributions from Bill Frisell, Shawn Colvin (who sings on Krauss's cover of Pink Floyd's "Shine On You Crazy Diamond"), and Indian singer Shweta Jhaveri. II is a sure bet for anyone interested in creative, beautifully constructed music not tied to genre conventions. Compact Disc

Old Crow Medicine Show - Big Iron World The Nashville bluegrass band's second album, which is produced by David Rawlings and features the alt country artist Gillian Welch on drums, is a collection whose sepia-toned lyrics lament the passing of hallowed old habits and customs. Tracks like the Depression-era "Let It Alone" conjure a bygone era when peoples' lives were naturally intertwined, and the band does its best to preserve equally ancient songs, like the political rallying cry of "Union Maid" and the raucous 1920s jug band hit "Cocaine Habit," for the present generation of country listeners. The set's timeless quality is heightened as much by the Old Crow Medicine Show's determinedly old-world attitudes to performance as by its traditional instrumentation and its singers' authentic-sounding voices Compact Disc

Over the last seven years, Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris quietly recorded an album by stealing "a few precious hours of studio time here and there," as the ex-Dire Straits singer/guitarist puts it. Good thing they kept it largely under wraps--expectations would have pushed through the clouds, especially as Knopfler conjured 10 of the 12 cuts, and Harris, who writes potently, but little, contributed two ("Love and Happiness," "Belle Starr"). It's been almost thirty years since venerable rock legends David Crosby & Graham Nash recorded the last of their three endeavors as a duo (1976's Whistling Down The Wire). The studio band for this project is a hybrid of old friends & new friends. Crosby & Nash have surrounded themselves with some of the most talented musicians they have come across in the business. Russ Kunkel, drummer from their 70's projects, & his son Nathaniel, are co-producers of the album of all new material. Crosby/Nash will be embarking on an extensive US tour with Stephen Stills this summer & will be hard at work. Double Redbook CD - Great New Material For CSNY Fans!
